Printer/scanner will not connect to PC - I took the cable off to get an adapter for a new PC and it won't connect. So I took the adapters off and tried to connect back to the old PC (it worked fine before I took the cable off) and it still won't connect. Can you tell me what to look for - how do I trouble shoot this?...

I am experiencing poor print quality that looks as if the ink cartridge is almost empty (dark gray type with white streaks through the lower part of the letters), although I have purchased 2 new cartridges, and they all perform the same. I have printed out a "Print Cartridge Cleaning Page" twice. What other cleaning/maintenance do I need to do in order to improve the print quality.
In addition, for about a month in the recent past, whenever I printed out a page, if there was any significant amount of white space on the page, the printer made a huge racket (sounded like something was dragging against something else). For instance, if I printed out a page that had type on the upper half of the page only, the noise was heard only after the type was all printed, while it was advancing the page through the remainder of the print cycle. I have not heard this noise for the past couple of weeks, however.

Je voudrais en savoir un peu plus sur le nettoyage de cet appareil et son fonctionnement mais je n ai pas eu de notice et celle existant sur ce site est en anglais, dont la traduction littérale risque d'être farfelue.
