I have been the owner of a Sigmatek PDX-1400US Twin Screen DVD Player for the last year, having purchased it new from an Ebay Shop. Unfortunately, the DVD Player has developed a fault that has worsened over the last few months, to the point now where it will not play any DVD at all.
I place a disc in the player, switch on, both screens display the standard view and both discs show the disc as ‘loading’. The discs are spinning correctly, but the loading image displays for about 4 minutes, and then ‘no disc’ appears on the screens. Whilst the Player is attempting to load, an occasional ‘beep’ can be heard emitting from the Player, and various ‘whirring’ noises.
I have tried new discs straight from the wrapping, and all discs that have been tried are compatible with the appropriate region.
I have also tried gently cleaning the laser lens with a cotton tip bud, but the lens looks perfectly clean (having examined it under magnification).
The two screens are in perfect condition, but obviously redundant if the player is not working.
Can you please provide any guidance or assistance in this?...
